Petrified wood forms when woody stems of plants are quickly buried in wet sediments saturated with dissolved minerals like Quartz, Manganese, Iron and Copper. The lack of oxygen slows decay of the wood, allowing minerals to replace cell walls and to fill void spaces in the wood over thousands of years. This is a stone of growth, strength, inner peace and patience. Its formation over long periods of time made it stronger and this is a direct correlation between the energies it gives us. "Slow and steady wins the race" is its mantra and we can learn alot from its steadfast energies.
