Moldavite was created around 14.2 million years ago when a meteor struck Germany and showered the Czech Republic with its debris field. It is classified as a Tektite and is one of the most prized and unique materials on the planet. Most Tektites are black, while Moldavite is a deep green. Scientists theorize that when the meteor hit, it penetrated all the way into the molten iron core of our planet and ejected molten material about 30,000 feet into the atmosphere and as it fell, it dried, creating this amazing Tektite.
