What is Wicca?

Wicca is an Earth-based religion that honors the God and the Goddess. Wicca is a joyous religion springing from our kinship with nature. It is "being one" with the Goddesses and Gods, the universal energies which created all in existence.

Wicca is a personally-involving religion that celebrates both the physical and spiritual realities, where attunement with deity is coupled with the practice of magic. It centers around reverence for nature as seen in the Goddess and the God.

Not all Wiccans are witches, and not all witches are Wiccans. Wicca is one of the fastest-growing religions in the United States.

Most religions have a special symbol, and for Wiccans it is the pentagram. What does the pentagram mean? The points of the pentagram represent the spirit and the four elements, the substances that is a must for all life.

  • The top point represents "Spirit" and the color associated with it is white or purple.

  • The top right point represents "Water" and the color of this point is blue.

  • The bottom right point represents "Fire" and the color of this point is red.

  • The bottom left point represents "Earth" and the color of this point is green.

  • The top left point represents "Air" and the color of this point is yellow.
