Silver Pyramid was originally started back in 1984 at Vikon Village by Steve. The original name was "Steve Collins" then later became "Steve Collins Jewelry.
In the beginning Steve sold gold layered chains by the inch on a card table in the corner of "Virginia's Boutique". It was at Vikon Village that Steve met Kathy, his wife. |
Some time after they were married, they were driving down Greenville Avenue one day and saw an old school bus that had a sign the said, "Crystals for sale". They stopped and met a guy named Tom that had been to Arkansas and was now traveling around the country in that old bus, selling the crystals to help out with travel expenses.
Tom told Steve about wire wrapping the crystals. So Steve started wire wrapping and selling them with the chains. Then Steve started taking jewelry courses and the jewelry progressed and he got his own shop at Vikon. Over the years (20 to be exact) the shop at Vikon became larger and larger and the inventory just kept expanding to what it is today.
In 1999 we changed the name to "Silver Pyramid" in preparation for a future website. The shop kept on evolving, we met a lot of interesting people along the way, and we have continued to evolve. We have had the opportunity in our quest to bring in unique minerals, jewelry, books, figurines, and more, to meet people from all over the world and on different spiritual quest.
In November, 2003 we opened the second location of the "Silver Pyramid", located in Richardson on Coit, in the Dal-Rich Shopping Center. We are very proud of this location. It has an inviting atmosphere that people just love to come and prowl through all the goodies, visit and learn from other people, and to experience the energy of the high energy stones (ex. Moldavite, Zincite, Phenacite, etc.). There is also the quartz singing bowls that just scream to be played. If you are ever in the Dallas area, we invite you to come and experience the "Silver Pyramid".
